FAR 91.1113 — Maintenance Recordkeeping

FAR 91.1113 sets the maintenance recordkeeping rule for fractional ownership program managers — the company that runs a fractional aircraft program (think NetJets-style operations).

The rule is short but important. The program manager must:

• Keep the maintenance records listed in §91.417(a) — this includes records of maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations, inspections, AD compliance, and the current status of life-limited parts.
• Retain those records for the time periods specified in §91.417(b) — some records (like the current inspection status and AD compliance) must be kept until the work is repeated or superseded; others (like total time in service and overhaul status) must be transferred with the aircraft when sold.
• Use the recordkeeping system described in the program manager's manual required by §91.1025.

Why it matters operationally: Even though fractional operations fall under Subpart K, the underlying maintenance documentation standard is the same as Part 91 General. As a pilot flying these aircraft, you rely on these records to verify airworthiness before flight.
